The shift from paper copies of briefs and motions to electronic copies have changed the operation of the Court in many ways.  Carts such as these were once piled high with files, appellate records, and motions so they could be transferred from the clerks’ office to the judges’ chambers.  Now, however, parties file their briefs and motions electronically, which the judges can then access from their computer.  Accordingly, as demonstrated in this April 2016 photograph, there is little need for these carts so only a few remain on site.
