The Third District Court of Appeal was created by the Florida legislature in 1957.  It was originally comprised of only three judges and presided in a single room at the University of Miami’s School of Law.  Over the next 50 years it would gain more jurists and move to different locations.  The Historical Society’s book, titled Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal: Balancing Justice, 1957-2007, details the Court’s creation and evolution during its first 50 years.  It is available for active members of the Society to purchase for $50.00 per book plus $10.00 shipping and handling per book.
